Privacy policy
Daily Close. Last updated 20 October 2026.
Who we are
Daily Close is provided by Ian Worthing. You can reach us at ian@worthingcpa.com.
What the app handles
- Receipt photos you choose to add. They are sent over an encrypted connection to a reading service, which passes each photo to an AI service (Anthropic) that reads the figures printed on it and sends them back. We do not store your photos or the figures on our servers. The AI provider may keep a photo for a limited time under its own terms for safety and abuse checks, and does not use API data to train its models by default.
- Your closings (dates, totals, terminal and expense figures, notes, and the name you enter as reviewer). They are stored on your phone.
- An access code, if we gave you one, which lets the reading service know you may use it.
- Google Drive, only if you connect it. When you tap Connect Google Drive and sign in, the app asks for one narrow permission (
drive.file) that lets it create and update only the spreadsheet it makes in your Drive. It cannot see your other files. Each finished closing is written to that spreadsheet. Your Google sign-in stays on your phone, in its secure storage.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your information, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not read the contents of your Google Drive other than the spreadsheet the app created.
- We do not share your closings with anyone. They are not sent to us.
Google user data
Daily Close's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The app uses Google data only to save your closings to your own spreadsheet, and for no other purpose.
Keeping and deleting your data
- Closings on your phone stay until you delete them or delete the app.
- To stop the app using Google Drive, tap Disconnect in Settings, or remove Daily Close from your Google Account permissions at myaccount.google.com/permissions. The spreadsheet stays in your Drive until you delete it.
- To ask us to turn off your access code or answer any privacy question, email ian@worthingcpa.com.
Security
Connections are encrypted. Access codes are stored only as a one-way hash. The reading service keeps counts and timings for each request to prevent abuse, and nothing from the photo itself.
